E-Mail McMahan Familyc/o Mission To
The World
Mike and Robin grew up in Texas and met at Austin College. Both accepted Christ through the ministry of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Shortly after Mike's graduation, they married and eventually moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where they lived for 15 years. From 2001 to 2004, Mike and Robin served as short-term missionaries on the MTW church planting team in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Seeing the need for ministry in both word and deed, Mike and Robin attended the Chalmer's Institute at Covenant College to pursue training in micro-economic development. Returning from the conference, they initiated several school savings groups, which enabled parents to save money for school costs for their children. Savings and loan groups, using only their own savings, were used to generate small loans for business, medical, or other financial needs. Such groups open avenues for the gospel as they also minister to physical needs. Mike and Robin work in Quito helping the national church minister reconciliation through the preaching of the gospel and through micro-economic and community development. Please pray for the McMahan's as they proclaim Christ in both word and deed in Ecuador. Mike and Robin have four children: William (10-5-85), Wendy (8-6-87), Whitney (12-18-90) and Waverly (12-18-90). |
