The Pilgrim Path (6-20-2020)

The Pilgrim Path---Psalm 100: 4, 5

Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

So many marvelous benefits to express gratitude to God for:

Being a joint heir with the Son forever! Such a Gospel wonder is often past believing---but it is true! Knit to the Savior through the Blood of the Covenant---and all our sins are gone! Thanks be to God!

This past week, our Music Director had the entire Praise Team "in"---to record more music for the "online" services (plus he had soundboard help). Ladies and gentlemen, this is work. We are glad for the time and effort that all these precious souls dedicated for Jesus and His Church.

Special Joys this week: Luke Bae and his Dad (Mr. Kee), visited us at the office! What an incredible treat. The Bae's had moved to Philly---for Luke to get "ready" for Westminster Seminary---and they just had to visit Salisbury to see some friends. The touching word from Mr. Kee Bae, "I pray for you and the Church every day." Wow---tears to my eyes...So thankful...

Another Joy: the same day that Luke Bae and his Dad came, a phone call from the "first" church that I served! It was from Dr. "C"---she said, "We've been watching you on you're website for the past two months." Wow---then, a 25 minute phone conversation---what a gift: Thanks be to God!

Many times this past week I did not think I would get to Saturday. Well, the LORD got me here---and You too! Bless His Name!

Some quick thoughts from Jerry Bridges:

---thanksgiving is a recognition that we are totally dependent upon the LORD, that all we are and have comes from Him.

---we are anxious to receive but too careless to give thanks.

---thanksgiving not only promotes the glory of God---but humility in us.

---we must cultivate the habit of giving thanks to God for everything (Eph. 5:20).

---as you make note of prayer requests---also make note of this: have you adequately thanked God in prayer...
