The Pilgrim Path---Isaiah 1: 18 (1—6—25)
“Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.”
“…THEY SHALL BE AS WHITE AS SNOW”
Snow days are Gospel-picture days. Jesus Christ washes repentant ones as white as snow. So powerful is his redeeming blood. He turns his own from a life of moral rebellion to a life of new desire---to walk in his paths. Thanks be to God!
Tell people that they don’t have to ignore their sin---or hide their sin---or blame their sin on others…They may “take” it to Jesus in humility and brokenness---And He will take it away. In yielding to Him---they may have forgiveness---and eternal life!
From Jeremiah Burroughs: Your love is a drop compared to the infinite ocean of God’s mercy. He holds every tear of your mourning in a bottle! Mourners are blessed; Jesus Christ has made a sufficient atonement for sin; that is, he has atoned for all wrongs that sin has ever done to God.
