The Pilgrim Path (3/27/2020)

The Pilgrim Path---The Gospel of Mark 1: 14,15 (3-27-20)

Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."

---Well, long before the World Wide COVID-19 Pandemic, we had the World Wide Curse of Sin-Death and Hell---the problem is: not very many people seem to care...God cares though---So much so---He made His Son a Missionary (John 3:16). Go ahead--pray for divine appointments to share the Gospel. You'll be surprised the people God puts in your path...

---John the Baptist did what the Lord wanted him to do---he was arrested. Better to be in Jail for Christ / and with Christ---than be "free" and still "dead" in sin...

---The Gospel of The Kingdom kept being proclaimed ---even after John was imprisoned. The Lord Jesus Christ took up the banner and took up the task. He proclaimed the truth...

---Kingdom proclamation continues. How long do people think they have-- to reject the message they hear? Not normally as long as they think...

---Consider writing notes to unsaved friends and loved ones. Actually write --or print out Scripture--and put it inside your note. The Holy Spirit "uses" the Word in people's lives to change them--it is the "sword of the Spirit." They will probably read your note ---might simply "delete" your e-mail...

---"Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God" (II Cor. 5: 20).

---"Life is short---Death is sure---Sin the cause---Christ the cure!"

---Good quote from J. C. Ryle: We may reach heaven without learning, or riches, or health, or worldly greatness. But we shall never reach heaven, if we die impenitent and unbelieving. A new heart, and a lively faith in a Redeemer, are absolutely needful to salvation. May we never rest till we know them by experience, and can call them our own! With them all true Christianity begins in the soul. In the exercise of them consists the life of religion. It is only through the possession of them that men have peace at the last. Church-membership and priestly absolution alone save no one. They only die in the Lord who "repent and believe."
