The Pilgrim Path---Philippians 4:4-7

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

FROM REV. DARYL WATTLEY: The New Baby is finally here!

Just in case you missed the NEWS---Daryl George Wattley V, was born on May 10th---7lbs 10oz---Mom & Baby quite well...

"Dad is getting used to having yet another person with his name and twice as many dirty pampers. Leia (daughter) is trying to manage her love for her new little bro. Please pray for us as we adjust to having our latest bundle of joy."

We do not have many Black Ministers in the PCA, so I thought I would repost some of his RUF / Ministry Update word to Supporters:

"Our country has been under great stress. This stress has caused brokenness as a nation to boil to the surface. People are sick. People are dying. People have lost their jobs. People are losing their homes and retirements. Worst of all, people are losing their hope. This past week, a man named George Floyd lost all those things and he even lost his dignity when he was murdered by someone who was supposed to uphold his dignity...whether he had broken the law or not. When George Floyd was stripped of his dignity, all black people also felt as though they became undignified. American law enforcement is the envy of human history. Unfortunately, human history is filled with injustice and sets a very low standard for comparisons. Our country is filled with good police officers who love their communities and would die to protect us. However, time has proven that there are many officers who are tares who are hard to up-root. What hope do we have? As we celebrated Pentecost this past Sunday, it is clear that God has not only re-united believers with himself via the forgiveness of our sins in Jesus, but has also re-united us with each other in Christ. As we see in Ephesians, Christ is making us into a Holy Family and into one people. While our divisions run deep and our hope runs thin into this June, if we believe in Jesus, we have hope that there will be a day when there will be no riots, when police will not be needed, when there will be no disease, where everyone will have purpose, where we will all have dignity, where justice will be served, where no one will go hungry and no one will die. It's an amazing hope. Its amazing grace. It is why we preach the Gospel to Delaware State University...so that our students can live in this hope and look past the anguish of the world. I want my students to protest peacefully. Maybe through their efforts, things will be a little better for my newborn African-American son. However, I do not want them to place their hope in those protests. I want them to place their hope in Jesus. I want you to place your hope in Jesus too.

Many blessings to you and all who protest peacefully,

Pastor Daryl

Quickly---Some notes from Dave Butts (Harvest Prayer Ministries)---Three Prayers for CITIES...Prayer Points...

PROTECTION---"Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him. You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance" Psalm 32: 6-7---Father, we ask for Your hand of protection to be upon our nation during these days of unrest and anger. Protect the lives of the angry as well as the officers and military personnel who are trying to restore order. Calm heats and minds and bring restoration through justice and acts of repentance, humility and extraordinary love. Sing your song of deliverance over our hurting nation, Lord.

PRESENCE---"I will out my dwelling place among you, and I will not abhor you. I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people" Lev. 26: 11-12. Make Your presence known Lord! In the midst of darkness, confusion and despair, may the light of Your glory shine. We welcome You---and ask You to walk among us. Change lives, bring unity and stir Your people to be image bearers of Jesus in this troubling hour. we long for Your presence to permeate our culture and transform our nation.

PEACE---"Peace, peace to them, both near and far, for I will heal them all..." Isaiah 57: 19. Prince of Peace, come walk through the streets of our cities. Rest upon the hurting, the angry and those who are bent on destruction. Awaken Your Church! Give us courage and kindness in order to be the peacemakers You designed us to be. Help us to demonstrate justice for all people and the unity of a people---One in You: for You created us equally. We long for Your peace to come to our nation, Lord!
