The Pilgrim Path

The Pilgrim Path---First Corinthians 2: 9 (6—11—24)

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.

“…THE THINGS WHICH GOD HATH PREPARED”

When I mention the death of a follower of Jesus, sometimes the reaction has been: “What a tragedy---how sad!” Well, I guess for us who remain that is true. We will miss them. Their departure is painful, and often difficult to process. Yet, if we are all knit to Jesus through the grace of the Gospel---we will be reunited in far better circumstances. Thomas Brooks used to say, “Death is the midwife that births dear ones into the presence of Jesus.” How true. All sin and suffering over. Glory has begun---all because of Jesus Christ Our LORD.

From St. Basil of Caesarea: If we could review and condense all the happiness there has ever been on earth, since human beings first existed, and if we collected it all together in a single place, it still wouldn’t be equal in value to the slightest foretaste of the future life!

From Richard Sibbes: We die to be born to glory and happiness…
