The Pilgrim Path---First John 2: 19 – 21 (10 –11 –23)

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge. I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.

“YOU HAVE BEEN ANOINTED…”

The Living Christ has anointed His Own. This is why we repent. This is why we desire to pray. This is why we want to worship. This is why we begin to forgive our enemies. You recall James and John wanted to call fire “down” on some folks. The LORD Jesus had to remind the men that this was not His spirit operating within them. Every now and then, we must remind ourselves, we are citizens of Heaven on earth. We have knowledge that others do not possess. We must act accordingly. We also have been endowed with the Spirit’s power. We are not alone…
