The Pilgrim Path (10-18-2023)

The Pilgrim Path---Numbers 9: 22, 23 (10—18—23)

Whether it was two days, or a month, or a longer time, that the cloud continued over the tabernacle, abiding there, the people of Israel remained in camp and did not set out, but when it lifted they set out. At the command of the LORD they camped, and at the command of the LORD they set out. They kept the charge of the LORD, at the command of the LORD by Moses.

“AT THE COMMAND OF THE LORD…”

We do not have a cloud of God’s sacred presence about us (it was like fire above the Tabernacle at night). We do possess the Word of God in written form. It is a path unto our feet. Think of The Sermon on the Mount: The LORD Jesus Christ teaches us how to pray, give, fast, and live. He tells us to settle our hearts in prayer by making God’s Name first, His Kingdom first, and His Will the priority in all matters. All life-changing, and all life-leading. Such is the love of The Savior Jesus for His People! The LORD Jesus is often talked about, but He is not always followed. Disciples follow The Master. Do this---and begin to live…

From Charles Haddon Spurgeon: We cannot tell what changes may come to any one of us, and, therefore, we reckon on nothing that God has not plainly promised. Be certain of nothing but uncertainty, and always expect the unexpected. We cannot tell between here and heaven where our Guide may take us---happy will we be if we can truly say that we desire always to follow where the Lord leads.

From John Duncan: Ah, to live on the promise we need to live by the Promiser.
