The Pilgrim Path (2—19—24)

The Pilgrim Path---First Chronicles 23: 30 – 32 (2—19—24)

And they were to stand every morning, thanking and praising the LORD, and likewise at evening, and whenever burnt offerings were offered to the LORD on Sabbaths, new moons, and feast days, according to the number required of them, regularly before the LORD. Thus they were to keep charge of the tent of meeting and the sanctuary, and to attend the sons of Aaron, their brothers, for the service of the house of the LORD.

“EVERY MORNING…”

There were many Levites. The tasks required of them are a study by themselves. Here we find them involved in giving thanks, praise, and offerings. Every day they had sacred engagements with the LORD. We have sacred involvements for Jesus Christ each day. The Apostle Paul said that living is for the Savior (Philippians 1: 21) and all we do is for Him (Colossians 3: 17). This will enable us to deal with the whines and protests of SELF.

From William Whitaker: Labor to see through Scripture that all the excellences of this world are but a ballon filled with air. But Christ is the everlasting fountain of all good that can never run dry. He is a never-failing spring of blessings. We must engage our souls in an earnest pursuit after Christ: or, in the Psalmist words: My soul clings to you (cf. Psa. 63).
