The Pilgrim Path---Proverbs 12: 18, 19 (2—9—24)

There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

“…LIKE SWORD THRUSTS”

Ours is the age of verbal sword fights. Piercing, slashing bravado and meanness. This is not new to humanity. We have accelerated and expanded the cancerous reach of lies, libel, and half-truth through a vast network of media platforms. Just remember repetition does not mean anything is true.

The LORD Jesus Christ is God’s Word made flesh. He will eventually draw all people back to the standard of God’s Word at the judgment (no objections will be sustained). Consider the moral clarity and power of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20 / Deuteronomy 5). Who measures up? No one. Only by God’s grace through faith---may we have the righteousness of the God-Man Jesus. His blood can make the foulest clean! When Jesus Christ returns a large number of individuals will find out with soul-searching certainty that they have lived for lies---and have lost their eternal soul.

Aren’t you glad you know the truth in Jesus Christ the LORD?
