The Pilgrim Path (4---12---23)

The Pilgrim Path---Proverbs 25: 11, 25 (4---12---23)

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.

Like cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

“…FITLY SPOKEN”

When I served as a Town Alderman, people would come to City Meetings to make comments during the public commentstime. Would it surprise you--- if I said that I do not recall anyone coming---to tell the Mayor and Alderman “how pleased” they were with the way the Town was being operated? What I recall was public criticism. Well---this was part of the job. Smile. Answer questions. Do your best to make a positive contribution as a representative of Jesus Christ. Besides---I was paid an exorbitant salary of $126.00 dollars a month. So---open the flood gates of harassment and harangue. This would usually only last 25 minutes or so---Thanks be to God!

Some folks have a mistaken notion that their spiritual gift is complaining. Please do not join them in this erroneous thinking. You could go to someone in love---and discuss matters where you disagree (almost unheard of). I would heartily recommend that you encourage as many individuals as you can---simply because so many souls are beaten down and trodden under foot already. Ask the Holy Spirit to use You--- as an agent of Life. People desperately need some good news. They need to know that Jesus did not come to call the righteous---but sinners to repentance. People need to hear that the job they performed---was done well! Give the wait staff some extra money---and tell them God has favored You in Jesus Christ. When the online representative gets the “CHAT” almost done---type some good Scripture in “the box” and say real life---is found-- in Jesus Christ----they are a captive audience. Make people glad they dealt with You---because you put some gold apples in a silver setting…

From G. K. Chesterton: The Bible tells us to love our neighbors, and also to love our enemies: probably because they are generally the same people…

From John Duncan: My neighbor’s good is my good, my Christian brother’s spiritual good is my good.
