The Pilgrim Path (5-10-2020)

The Pilgrim Path---Exodus 20:12 (5--10--20)

"Honor your father and mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you."

Well, may Mom died in February of 2017. She was in hospice care at the assisted living. We had talked. She had indicated a long time before, that it would be a wonderful thing if she, "could die in her sleep." She was able to "leave" just as she desired. As Thomas Brooks used to say, "her deathbed was the mid-wife that birthed her into the presence of Jesus Christ her Savior."

It seemed appropriate to give you some Scripture texts and sayings--- that she had written in her own Bible. You know, let the Lady speak for herself on this Mother's Day:

Colossians 2: 16, "As you have therefore, received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him."

Psalm 73: 26, "My flesh and my heart my fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

Isaiah 26: 3, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee."

No God

No Peace

Know God

Know Peace

Psalm 34:19, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all."

I am so glad for the simplicity of salvation---all we must do, God says, is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and we shall be saved.

Faith makes it possible---not easy.

Joshua 1:9, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, neither be dismayed; for the LORD thy God is with thee wherever thou goest."

A saint is a saved sinner.

The riches of this world are vain,

They vanish in a day,

But sweet the treasures of God's love--

They never pass away.

I Timothy 6: 6, "But godliness with contentment is great gain."

Proverbs 28: 13, "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper, but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy."

Psalm 4: 8, "I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for Thou, LORD only maketh me dwell in safety."

Our loved ones take us to the grave and leave us there, but God doesn't---HE meets us there.

Lord, into your hands I place this day,

All that I have and do and say;

Oh, grant that every hour be filled

With thoughts and actions YOU have willed.

Grace and Peace in Jesus Christ Our LORD, Pastor Jason
